Sumeet Raghavan, known for his versatile acting and beloved portrayal of Sahil in the popular sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, has recently addressed the persistent rumors surrounding a potential third season of the show. In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Raghavan clarified that a new season is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, which initially aired in 2004, quickly gained a dedicated following due to its witty humor, well-developed characters, and brilliant writing by Aatish Kapadia and direction by Deven Bhojani. The show features Raghavan alongside Rupali Ganguly, Ratna Pathak Shah, Satish Shah, and Rajesh Kumar. The sitcom revolves around the lives of the Sarabhai family, a wealthy and eccentric family living in South Mumbai.

Raghavan emphasized the difficulty of recreating the magic of the original series. He drew an analogy to the Taj Mahal, stating that "A Taj Mahal is made and it can't be remade again even if there are same workers". He suggested that attempting to replicate the show's initial success might be futile, as the first season had a huge impact on the audience. He noted that even the 10 episodes created in 2015 were subject to comparison and deemed not as good as the original.

Raghavan revealed that during discussions about a potential third season, he often suggests, "Chhod do. Yeh rehne do. Let us just enjoy,". He believes that it is better to cherish the existing seasons rather than risk diminishing the show's legacy by trying to recreate something that cannot be replicated.

Despite the unlikelihood of a third season, Raghavan acknowledged the strong bond the cast shares. He noted that their reunions often spark rumors about a new season, highlighting the audience's continued love for the show. He also shared insights about his co-star Rupali Ganguly, noting that her character Monisha in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai mirrored her real-life personality. He mentioned that the cast and crew often teased her, even after she achieved great success with her role in Anupamaa.

Sumeet Raghavan has been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, showcasing his talent across various platforms. He has played numerous roles in television shows and films, earning recognition and admiration from audiences. Besides Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, he is known for his work in Wagle Ki Duniya - Nayi Peedi Naye Kissey, Hudd Kar Di, Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo, and Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hai. He also appeared as a child actor in the Mahabharat serial.
