BKI terrorist Parminder Pindi faces justice: Extradition from UAE brings him back to India.

In a significant victory for Indian law enforcement, Parminder Singh alias Pindi, a wanted terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), has been extradited from Abu Dhabi, UAE, to India. The extradition, which took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, was the result of close coordination between the Punjab Police, central agencies, the Ministry of External Affairs, and authorities in the United Arab Emirates.

Parminder Singh, also known as Pindi, is a close associate of foreign-based terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Passia. He is implicated in multiple heinous crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion, particularly in the Batala-Gurdaspur region of Punjab. These activities were allegedly aimed at destabilizing law and order and generating funds for BKI's terrorist activities.

BKI is a proscribed organization under India's Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, known for its involvement in violent campaigns and links to international extremist groups.

The extradition was initiated following a Red Corner Notice (RCN) issued by Interpol at the request of the Batala Police. A dedicated four-member team of Punjab Police officers, led by a senior official, traveled to the UAE on September 24, 2025, to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities. After completing all necessary legal procedures, the team successfully brought Pindi back to India to face justice.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav hailed the extradition as a landmark achievement and a testament to the state's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and organized crime. He also acknowledged the advanced investigative capabilities and global reach of the Punjab Police. DGP Yadav expressed gratitude to the central agencies, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the UAE government for their cooperation in the joint effort to uphold justice and strengthen national security.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also played a crucial role in the extradition process. Following a request from the Punjab Police, the CBI issued a Red Notice through Interpol on June 13, 2025, which led to Pindi's arrest by UAE agencies. The CBI's International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), in coordination with various agencies, facilitated the extradition.

Happy Passia, another wanted gangster who reportedly plotted 16 terrorist attacks in Punjab, was arrested in April 2025 and is currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody in the US. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for Passia's arrest due to his alleged involvement in grenade attacks.
