Dhadak 2: Unveiled - A Glimpse into the Making of the Film with Candid Behind-the-Scenes Moments

The making of "Dhadak 2," a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film "Dhadak" and a remake of the Tamil film "Pariyerum Perumal," was filled with emotional and creative moments, offering a glimpse into the hard work and dedication of the cast and crew. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in leading roles, the film, directed by Shazia Iqbal, delves into themes of love, longing, and the turbulence of human relationships.

Triptii Dimri, who plays Vidhi, an upper-caste student who falls in love with Nilesh, a lower-caste student, shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, giving fans a special treat. The candid shots capture the emotional and creative journey of the film, offering a closer look at moments that unfolded away from the camera. The images reflect the bond formed during the making of the movie, from light-hearted fun on set to the intense energy of performance-driven scenes.

According to a YouTube video titled "The Hearts Of Dhadak 2 - Behind The Scenes," the director aimed to capture the raw and relatable emotions of the characters. Shazia Iqbal wanted the actors to bring the characters to life, rather than the other way around. She emphasized the importance of the actors' personal experiences informing their performances, allowing them to embody the characters authentically. The video highlights the chemistry between Siddhant and Triptii, noting how their off-screen camaraderie translated into their on-screen performances. Their habit of playfully teasing each other on set helped to build a genuine connection, which resonated in their portrayal of Nilesh and Vidhi.

The film's official announcement was made on May 15, 2025, introducing the characters of Dimri and Chaturvedi in a musical teaser. Principal photography began in November 2024, with major parts of the film shot in Bhopal and Sehore in Madhya Pradesh. Somaiya Vidyavihar University in Mumbai and the Oriental Group of Institutes in Bhopal served as the backdrop for the college scenes in the film.

"Dhadak 2" explores the complexities of caste discrimination and its impact on relationships. Nilesh, played by Siddhant Chaturvedi, secures admission to the National University of Law through a quota, where he meets Vidhi. Despite their different backgrounds, they form a strong bond and fall in love. However, their relationship faces challenges due to societal prejudices and family objections.

The film's narrative aims to make viewers uncomfortable, highlighting the prevalence of caste discrimination in society. It encourages audiences to confront the issue and recognize its existence in real life, even when it is often overlooked.

"Dhadak 2" was released theatrically on August 1, 2025, and is also available for streaming on Netflix.
