The first look poster of Nayanthara in Mookuthi Amman 2 has been released, generating excitement among fans. The poster was unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.
Nayanthara returns in the sequel as Goddess Mookuthi Amman, directed by Sundar C. The film is produced by Vels Film International, Avni Cinemax, Rowdy Pictures, and IVY Entertainment. The first film, Mookuthi Amman (2020), which starred RJ Balaji and Nayanthara, was a hit on Disney+ Hotstar, blending social commentary, humor, and divinity.
In the newly released poster, Nayanthara is seen draped in a green silk saree, adorned with gold and diamonds, wielding her iconic trident. Her expression conveys a mix of divinity and disturbance, hinting at deeper conflicts within this avatar. The poster's caption, "Let Her Divine Grace Prevail," suggests a narrative focused on her power and inner trials.
The sequel boasts an ensemble cast, including Duniya Vijay, Regina Cassandra, Suneel, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, Ineya, Garuda Raam, Singampuli, Vichu Vishwanath, Ajay Ghosh, and Myna Nandhini. Duniya Vijay will play a negative role, adding a new dynamic to the film. Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi returns as the music composer. Venkat Raghavan is handling the screenplay and dialogue, while Gopi Amarnath is the cinematographer.
Mookuthi Amman 2 is anticipated to be a multilingual release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The film is expected to release during the festive season of 2026.
According to reports, the film is being produced on a budget of ₹100 crore (US$12 million). The muhurat puja of the film took place on March 6, 2025, in Chennai.
