The Durga Puja celebrations led by the family of Rani Mukerji and Kajol culminated on Thursday with Vijayadashami, marked by the traditional 'Sindoor Khela'. The two actresses, along with other family members, participated in the festivities.
'Sindoor Khela' is a popular ritual also known as the vermillion game, involves married women applying sindoor (vermillion) on each other as a symbol of strength and togetherness.
Rupali Ganguly, the television star known for her role in "Anupamaa", also joined the Sindoor Khela ceremony at the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal. She embraced her Bengali roots, dressed in a red and white Bengali saree. Rupali paired her outfit with golden bangles, heavy earrings, and a statement necklace, while keeping her makeup simple and styling her hair in soft curls.
Videos and photos of Rupali Ganguly and Rani Mukerji celebrating together at the Durga Puja pandal have gone viral on social media. Earlier in the celebrations, Rupali Ganguly joined Rani Mukerji in serving bhog to devotees at the pandal. The North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal is known for its grandeur and traditional rituals and is hosted by the families of Rani Mukerji, Kajol, and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji.
Kajol and her daughter, Nysa Devgn, also participated in the Sindoor Khela celebrations. Ishita Dutta and her husband, Vatsal, were also part of the celebrations, applying vermillion to each other.
