The TVK leadership is keen to avoid a repeat of the circumstances that led to the stampede, where overcrowding and a delayed arrival of Vijay resulted in chaos.
Attendance at these indoor meetings will be limited to individuals who have pre-registered their interest in attending. This controlled access is intended to help maintain order and ensure a secure environment for attendees. Furthermore, Vijay's address at these meetings is expected to be concise, lasting no more than 30 minutes.
The Karur stampede occurred when a massive crowd surged toward Vijay's convoy in Velusamypuram on the Karur-Erode highway, after his arrival was delayed by nearly seven hours. The incident prompted widespread condemnation and led to the establishment of a one-member commission by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to investigate the causes. The state government also announced compensation for the families of the deceased.
