Diljit Dosanjh has reportedly exited the upcoming sequel to the 2005 comedy film No Entry, titled No Entry 2, due to creative differences. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, was slated for release later in 2025.
Dosanjh was initially enthusiastic about collaborating with Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, who are still expected to star in the film. However, sources indicate that Dosanjh's creative vision for the film did not align with the filmmakers' ideas. A source close to the production stated that despite Dosanjh's initial excitement, he couldn't reconcile his ideas with the film's direction over several weeks. This ultimately led to his decision to leave the project. Anees Bazmee, when contacted, neither confirmed nor denied Dosanjh's departure but refrained from commenting on the matter.
No Entry 2 has been in development for over a decade, facing numerous casting changes, production delays, and shifting producers. The film was expected to feature Dhawan, Kapoor, and Dosanjh in leading roles, promising a blend of fresh and nostalgic comedic elements. Dosanjh's departure introduces further uncertainty to the already complex production schedule.
The makers of No Entry 2 will need to find a replacement for Diljit Dosanjh before the project goes into production this October. The film's release is tentatively scheduled for Diwali 2025. There are speculations that Salman Khan, who starred in the original No Entry, might make a cameo appearance in the sequel. Tamannaah Bhatia is also rumored to be part of the cast, potentially playing a character similar to Bipasha Basu's role in the first film, although this remains unconfirmed.
