Haryana Youth Arrested in Nuh: Suspected of Espionage for Pakistan, Raising Security Concerns.

A 26-year-old man named Armaan has been arrested in Haryana's Nuh district on suspicion of spying for Pakistan. According to police reports, Armaan, a resident of Rajaka village, was apprehended on Saturday based on a tip-off received from central investigation agencies. He is accused of sharing sensitive information related to the Indian Army and other military activities with an employee of the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi.

Nuh police officials stated that Armaan had been allegedly communicating with Pakistani contacts for an extended period through WhatsApp and other social media platforms. Upon searching his mobile phone, authorities discovered conversations, photos, and videos shared with Pakistani phone numbers. A local court has remanded Armaan to six days of police custody for further investigation.

Law enforcement has registered a case against Armaan under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), sections 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, as well as relevant treason sections.

This arrest marks the fourth such incident in Haryana within a week, highlighting increased vigilance and efforts to counter espionage activities in the region. In a related development, a Hisar-based YouTuber named Jyoti Malhotra, who runs a channel called "Travel with Jo," was also arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Malhotra is accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani operatives and has been booked under the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. She has been remanded to five days of police custody.

Investigations revealed that Malhotra had been in contact with a staffer at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, identified as Danish, who allegedly acted as her handler and introduced her to ISI during her visits to Pakistan in 2023. Danish has since been declared persona non grata by the Indian government and expelled.

In other instances, a 24-year-old factory security guard from Uttar Pradesh, Nauman Ilahi, was arrested in Panipat for allegedly supplying sensitive information to ISI operatives. Similarly, Devender Singh, a 25-year-old student from Kaithal, was arrested for uploading photos with weapons on social media and allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence officials after visiting Nankana Sahib in Pakistan last year.

These arrests underscore the ongoing efforts by Indian intelligence and law enforcement agencies to detect and neutralize espionage networks operating within the country. The investigations are ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the full extent of these individuals' involvement and their connections to Pakistani intelligence agencies.
