Neeraj Chopra is currently participating in the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver series event, in Chorzów, Poland, on Friday, May 23, 2025. After three attempts, Neeraj Chopra is in third place.

Coming into the competition, all eyes were on Neeraj after his historic performance at the Doha Diamond League 2025 where he finally breached the 90-metre mark, a milestone he had been chasing for a long time. Although he finished second in Doha with a throw of 90.23m, a new national record, the achievement marked him as only the 25th athlete in history to cross the prestigious 90m barrier. However, Germany's Julian Weber upstaged him with a personal best of 91.06m to win the gold.

The Janusz Kusocinski Memorial marks Neeraj's third event of the 2025 season. He began his season in South Africa at the Potch Invitational Track Event in April, where he won gold with a throw of 84.52m. This was his first event since September of last year, when he competed at the Diamond League in Belgium and finished second.

Following the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial, Neeraj is scheduled to compete at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on June 24. The main event for him this year will be the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in September, where he will aim to defend his world title.

At the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025, Neeraj is up against a strong field of competitors, including Julian Weber, and Anderson Peters of Grenada, a two-time world champion with a personal best of 93.07m, and the Polish national record holder Marcin Krukowski.
