The analyst posits that McDonald's defensive intensity and ability to disrupt opposing guards could be a game-changer for the Fever, an area where they've struggled to maintain consistency.

The Fever's defense has been a point of concern this season, and while Caitlin Clark's offensive contributions are undeniable, her defensive impact is still developing. McDonald's arrival could allow Clark to focus more on her offensive game while McDonald takes on the tougher defensive assignments. This could lead to a more balanced and effective team performance overall.

It's worth noting that McDonald has a history with Clark, having face-guarded her during a game last season when McDonald was with the Sparks.
