The Philadelphia Flyers have made a move to bolster their roster, securing Christian Dvorak with a one-year, $5.4 million contract. The deal was reported on Tuesday by multiple sources, including Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman and TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.

Dvorak, 29, joins the Flyers after spending the last four seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, where he played in 232 games. Prior to his time in Montreal, Dvorak was a member of the Arizona Coyotes. Throughout his NHL career, he has played 534 games, accumulating 105 goals and 144 assists for a total of 249 points.

Dvorak's addition addresses a need for the Flyers, as he can play both center and left wing. This versatility provides the team with flexibility in their lineup and helps to fill potential gaps, especially with the possibility of injuries or the need to move players around.

In his final season with the Canadiens, Dvorak recorded 12 goals and 21 assists in 82 games. The Flyers are hoping he can replicate that production in Philadelphia.

The one-year term of the contract provides the Flyers with a low-risk option, while also giving Dvorak the opportunity to prove his worth. If he performs well, he could potentially earn a longer-term contract with the Flyers or another team in the future.

With the signing of Dvorak, the Flyers have approximately $8.8 million in projected cap space with 21 active players on the roster. Dvorak is another key addition to the Flyers lineup, joining Trevor Zegras, and is expected to contribute to the team's offensive efforts. Other forwards on the Flyers roster include Matvei Michkov, Sean Couturier, and Travis Konecny.
