Jaehyun of F.able Passes Away at 23: K-Pop Mourns Loss to Cancer

Shim Jaehyun, known professionally as Jaehyun, a former vocalist for the K-pop group F.able, has died at the age of 23 after a battle with leukemia. The news of his passing was shared on June 29, 2025, and later confirmed by acquaintances, fans, and former colleagues online.

Born on April 7, 2002, Jaehyun debuted with F.able in June 2020 under Haeirum Entertainment. He was the youngest member of the group and a vocalist, endearing himself to fans with his soft-spoken personality and bright energy. Though F.able wasn't a mainstream success, the group released digital singles including "Burn It Up" and "Run Run Run". The group became inactive around mid-2023.

Jaehyun's battle with leukemia was not widely known to the public. Many fans were unaware of his condition until after the announcement of his death. Details surrounding his diagnosis and treatment remain private.

Following the announcement of his death, former F.able member Hojun posted a heartfelt tribute on social media. Hojun expressed regret over losing contact and thanked Jaehyun for their time together. His statement read, “Jae Hyun, I heard the news too late… I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for your last journey. I sometimes think about how I could have done better, and it's regretful. I hope you can shake off all your worries and live comfortably there. Thank you for the past five years. I hope you're eating lots of delicious food and doing well there. Come visit me in my dreams".

Messages of condolence have been shared throughout online fan communities, with many revisiting Jaehyun's past performances to honor his memory.

Funeral arrangements have not been shared with the public.

Jaehyun's passing has touched many who knew of him. He is remembered as a gentle spirit, a passionate performer, and a young man who gave his all to his chosen path.
