The filming of "Ginny Weds Sunny 2" in Mussoorie, starring Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr, has concluded. The sequel to the 2020 romantic comedy "Ginny Weds Sunny" features a fresh pairing in Tiwary and Shankr, promising a new take on love and relationships.

The announcement of the film's wrap comes shortly after the start of the first schedule in Mussoorie in May 2025, where behind-the-scenes snapshots of the duo on set were shared on social media. The original film, starring Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey, premiered on Netflix and became a popular title. Now, the sequel aims to deliver a refreshing cinematic experience with a lighthearted narrative that blends romance, comedy, and drama.

Prasshant Jha is the director and writer of "Ginny Weds Sunny 2," with Vinod Bachchan producing under the Soundrya Productions banner. Soundrya Productions has a history of supporting films with a strong mix of humor and emotion, including "Tanu Weds Manu" and "Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana".

Producer Vinod Bachchan expressed his excitement about the sequel, stating, "We are excited to bring a new chapter to the Ginny Weds Sunny universe. The love the first film received encouraged us to explore new narratives and characters, and with Avinash and Medha, we have found a refreshing and dynamic pairing. We are confident the sequel will offer even more heart, laughter, and connection". The film promises a fresh story and a twist, with family fun, quirky comedy, and heartwarming moments for all ages.

Medha Shankr, known for her role in "12th Fail," is venturing into the rom-com genre, while Avinash Tiwary continues his work in the romantic genre. The makers have kept the plot details under wraps, but early indications suggest the sequel will offer unexpected twists on love and relationships.
