In the wake of the tragic murder of 25-year-old Radhika Yadav, allegedly by her father, Deepak Yadav, actor Inam-ul-Haque has come forward to clarify his relationship with the deceased. Inam-ul-Haque, who appeared alongside Radhika Yadav in a music video that has recently gone viral, has denied any personal connection to her beyond their professional interaction.
In a statement to ANI, Inam-ul-Haque explained that he first met Radhika at the Tennis Premier League in Delhi and later collaborated with her on a music video. According to Inam-ul-Haque, their interaction was limited to these two instances, and they had no contact after the music video shoot. "I met her during the Tennis Premier League, and then again for a music video. That was the extent of our interaction. She came for the shoot with her mother, we paid her a goodwill amount, and we never contacted each other again," he stated. He also mentioned meeting Radhika for the first time at the Tennis Premier League in Dubai.
Inam-ul-Haque refuted social media rumors suggesting a personal relationship with Radhika, dismissing them as "baseless and completely untrue". He emphasized, "There was no friendship or relationship between us. She was simply an actor in a video project". He also expressed concern over attempts to give the case a communal angle, asserting, "I don't understand why this is being portrayed as a Hindu-Muslim issue. I have no role in this matter".
According to Inam-ul-Haque, Radhika had mentioned that her father appreciated the song, implying her family's support for the project. He added that she had deactivated and reactivated her Instagram account a few times but otherwise had no active social media presence. Inam-ul-Haque confirmed that he has not been contacted by the police but is ready to cooperate fully with any investigation. "If I receive any call from the police or investigating team, I will definitely cooperate," he said. He also mentioned considering removing the music video due to its poor performance and possibly re-releasing it with a different cast.
Radhika Yadav was allegedly shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their home in Gurugram's Sector 57. The police have arrested Deepak Yadav and placed him in one-day custody for interrogation. Gurugram Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sandeep Kumar stated that the motive for the murder appears to be a dispute over Radhika running a tennis academy. According to Kumar, Deepak Yadav, who runs a rental property business, opposed his daughter's decision to work, believing it was unnecessary given their affluent background. Sources close to the investigation indicate that Deepak had pressured Radhika to delete the music video from her social media accounts, but she resisted. The postmortem examination revealed that Radhika suffered multiple gunshot wounds, with four bullets removed during the autopsy.
