Indian Brewers Shine at Asia Beer Challenge 2025 with Six Medals
Hong Kong – Indian brewing innovation was on full display at the Asia Beer Challenge 2025, with two Indian beer brands securing a total of six medals across various beer styles. Kimaya Himalayan Beverages LLP and DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd. both received accolades at the prestigious competition, highlighting the growing quality and diversity of Indian beers in the Asian market.
Kimaya Himalayan Beverages LLP, known for its BeeYoung brand, won a gold medal for BeeYoung Beyond in the International Style Pilsner category. BeeYoung Beyond distinguishes itself with the use of Smoked Belgian Speciality Malt and Doon Basmati Rice from Uttarakhand, providing a unique flavor profile characterized by earthy, spicy, and floral notes, culminating in a smooth finish. The brand also secured a silver medal for BeeYoung Crafted Strong in the Strong Lager category. BeeYoung Crafted Strong is celebrated for its refreshing citrus notes, silky texture, and consistent quality, setting it apart from conventional strong lagers. DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd. also made a significant mark, with its Godfather Super 8 winning gold in the Strong Lager category. Godfather Super 8, DeVANS' flagship strong lager with 8% ABV, is recognized for its smooth profile, premium ingredients, and full-bodied character. The brewery's Six Fields Cult Finest Strong Wheat Beer won a silver medal in the Dubbel Wit/Imperial White category, standing out for its Belgian-style brewing with hints of coriander and orange peel. Six Fields Blanche Finest Wheat Beer, known for its crisp, clean, and refreshing taste with light spicy notes, also received a silver medal in the Witbier category. Furthermore, Godfather The Legendary Luxury Lager Beer received a bronze medal in the Australasian, Latin American, or Tropical-Style Light Lager category. This beer is characterized as a premium, easy-drinking, and balanced lager with 5% ABV.
