Kailash Kher recently shared insights into the making of "Thaandavam," a song from the highly anticipated movie Akhanda 2. The song was launched at a grand ceremony in Mumbai on Friday, November 14, 2025. Kher, along with Shankar Mahadevan, lent his voice to the track, which is composed by Thaman S.
Kher revealed that the lyrics dedicated to Lord Shiva were added at the last moment, enhancing the song's spiritual essence. "Thaandavam" is described as an energetic composition with strong spiritual elements. Thaman S incorporated thunderous beats and religious chants, complemented by a grand chorus of over 50 vocalists. Kalyan Chakravarthy penned the lyrics for the song.
The event in Mumbai was attended by actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who stars in Akhanda 2, child actor Harshaali Malhotra, and singer Kailash Kher. Balakrishna's portrayal of Aghora in the song is a major highlight, enhanced by his expressions and body language. The visuals, shot against snowy mountain backdrops, add to the song's spiritual grandeur.
Akhanda 2 is directed by Boyapati Srinu and is slated for release on December 5, 2025. The film stars Samyuktha and Pragya Jaiswal as female leads, with Aadi Pinisetty as the antagonist. Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta are producing the film under the 14 Reels Plus banner.
