Revanth Reddy's Vision 2047: Andhra Pradesh Aims to Compete with China and Japan, Not Each Other.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is charting an ambitious course for the state, declaring that Telangana's true competitors are not neighboring Andhra Pradesh or other Indian states, but global economic powerhouses like China and Japan. This bold vision is encapsulated in the "Telangana Rising 2047" plan, a comprehensive strategy aimed at transforming the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Reddy's administration is prioritizing attracting global giants to invest in Telangana, emphasizing the need for transparent policies to prevent "policy paralysis" and drive robust development. The Chief Minister has set a deadline of December 6th to finalize the policy document for 'Telangana Rising - 2047'. The Telangana government plans to dedicate the lessons learned from past experiences to the nation as a policy document for future generations.

The "Telangana Rising 2047" vision hinges on several key pillars. Infrastructure development is paramount, with a focus on enhancing road networks, connectivity to ports, and airways to boost the state's economy. Plans include expanding national and state highways, and constructing a 12-lane greenfield expressway linking Bharat Future City to the Machilipatnam port. Additionally, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is slated for expansion to accommodate 80 million passengers annually. Four new airports are also planned for Warangal, Adilabad, Kothagudem and Ramagundam.

To ensure balanced growth, the state will be divided into three distinct zones: the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE), the Peri-Urban Region Economy (PURE), and the Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE). The CURE, centered around Hyderabad, will be developed as a service sector hub and transformed into a pollution-free city. Initiatives like the Musi River rejuvenation and Metro Rail expansion aim to enhance the quality of life and infrastructure within the CURE region. The PURE will host projects like Bharat Future City, with greenfield express highways and bullet trains driving economic growth. The RARE will focus on strengthening the rural economy and doubling farmers' income.

The vision document emphasizes sustainable development, with plans to restore ponds, parks, and dwindling forest zones to achieve "Blue & Green Hyderabad". A dedicated Telangana State Net-Zero Authority and a Green Energy Transition Fund will coordinate efforts, supported by AI-enabled monitoring and a state carbon market. The plan also prioritizes new green jobs and reskilling programs.

The government is actively seeking collaboration with other countries, particularly Japan. The Andhra Pradesh-Japan Business Forum showcased the state as a rising global investment hub, with Japanese firms expressing interest in various sectors. The state government is also planning to establish a dedicated SME Park near Sri City in collaboration with Japanese developers.

Chief Minister Reddy is personally inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge to the Telangana Rising Global Summit, scheduled for December 8th and 9th. The summit aims to showcase the immense investment opportunities in Telangana to global investors. The Telangana government aims to make lakhs of people partners in the vision document and is preparing the document with the cooperation of organizations like NITI Aayog and ISB.
