Davos, Switzerland – Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is currently attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, where he is actively promoting the state as a prime investment destination. Yadav emphasized that investments in Madhya Pradesh are translating into tangible progress, moving beyond mere paperwork. He highlighted the state's investor-friendly policies and evolving work culture as key factors attracting attention from the international business community.
During the WEF, Chief Minister Yadav participated in a roundtable meeting centered on "Invest in India: Madhya Pradesh – A Strategic Investment Hub," where he presented Madhya Pradesh as a leading and emerging investment destination within the country. He outlined the state's strengths, including its robust infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, and abundant resources such as water, land, labor, and natural resources, all of which are advantageous for investors.
Yadav pointed out the significant investment opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh across various sectors, including automobiles, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, textiles, IT-ITES, agriculture and food processing, and multi-modal logistics parks. He also detailed the policy support and incentives offered by the state government to both international and domestic investors in these areas. The Chief Minister stressed the government's commitment to supporting industries and businesses that generate employment and livelihood opportunities within the state and mentioned that the Cabinet Committee for Investment Promotion would positively consider any investment proposal requiring special support.
On Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DP World, a global logistics and supply chain company based in the UAE. The MoU aims to foster collaboration and explore investment opportunities within Madhya Pradesh, particularly focusing on logistics infrastructure, industrial development, and supply chain connectivity. The goal is to integrate the state more effectively into national and global supply networks.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Yadav positioned Madhya Pradesh as a hub for AI-enabled governance and renewable energy transition. During discussions with NVIDIA, the state expressed its plans to integrate AI into government data systems to improve service delivery, transparency, and the targeting of welfare schemes. Madhya Pradesh also presented its renewable energy roadmap, emphasizing the integration of green energy into the state's core development framework.
In addition to these strategic meetings, Yadav engaged in bilateral talks with Maldives Minister for Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, identifying tourism as a foundation for broader cooperation in healthcare, education, fisheries, and cultural exchange. He also met with Manchester United Director Avram A. Glazer to explore opportunities in sports infrastructure and sports tourism.
Chief Minister Yadav expressed satisfaction with the steps taken by his government over the past two years to attract investment, viewing his presence at the WEF as a continuation of these efforts. He noted that the state's policies and working style have generated significant interest and that Madhya Pradesh is benefiting from this positive momentum. Yadav attributed the state's progress to collective efforts and the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing a commitment to continued reforms and the setting of new targets across various sectors.
