Kamaal R Khan's Arrest: Mumbai Police Action in Oshiwara Firing Case Investigation.

Mumbai, India – In a developing story, actor and self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan, widely known as KRK, was apprehended by the Oshiwara police on Saturday morning. The arrest is connected to a shooting incident that occurred on January 18 in a residential area of Andheri, Mumbai.

According to reports, the incident involved the firing of two to four bullets at Nalanda Society, located on Lokhandwala Back Road in Andheri West. The incident came to light when residents of the society heard loud sounds and subsequently discovered projectiles on the second and fourth floors of the building. One bullet was recovered from a second-floor flat belonging to a writer-director, Neeraj Kumar Mishra, while another was found on the fourth floor, which houses the residence of a model, Prateek Baid. Impact marks were also found on the walls and a wooden case. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Following the discovery, the residents alerted the Oshiwara police, who promptly launched an investigation. An 18-member police team, along with crime branch units, was formed to investigate the case. Forensic analysis played a crucial role in the investigation, ultimately leading to Khan's involvement being revealed.

Khan was taken into custody from his studio on Friday night and was formally arrested after a period of questioning by the Mumbai Police. During the interrogation, Khan admitted to firing the shots on January 18 using his licensed firearm. The police have since recovered the weapon used in the incident.

The motive behind the firing remains unclear. However, police said that Khan claimed he had no intention of harming anyone. According to his statement, Khan told investigators that he was cleaning his gun and fired it to test its functionality. He claimed he aimed towards a mangrove forest in front of his house, believing the area to be safe for such a test. Khan stated that he assumed the bullets would be absorbed by the mangrove area, but strong winds caused one of the rounds to travel farther and hit the building in the Oshiwara area.

Authorities are expected to present Khan before a local court, where they are likely to request his custody for further investigation into the matter. The investigation is ongoing.
