Ajith Kumar is set to collaborate once again with director Adhik Ravichandran for his next film, tentatively titled AK64. This announcement follows their previous successful venture, Good Bad Ugly, which was released earlier in 2025 and grossed over ₹240 crore.

Adhik Ravichandran confirmed that shooting for AK64 is scheduled to commence in February 2026. Speaking to the press after watching the re-release of Ajith Kumar's iconic film Mankatha, Adhik shared some insights about the upcoming project. He mentioned that AK64 will be an "entertainer aimed at every kind of audience". While Good Bad Ugly was made specifically for Ajith's fans, AK64 is being designed to appeal to a broader, family audience.

Ravichandran has also indicated that the film will feature unexpected scenes and that the cast and music director will be revealed as surprises. He has been quoted as saying that there will be "a lot of surprises" for the audience and that the film will have some fresh aspects that everyone can enjoy.

The upcoming AK64 marks the second consecutive collaboration between Ajith Kumar and Adhik Ravichandran. Adhik's career experienced a resurgence with the success of Mark Antony in 2023, which earned over ₹100 crore worldwide. He is the son of Ravichandran, who worked as an assistant director for nearly two decades.
