The digitally fabricated image and video claimed that the wedding took place in Chennai, with notable attendees including Trisha Krishnan, Shruti Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, Vijay Thalapathy, Dulquer Salmaan, and Ajith Kumar. In the image, Mrunal Thakur is seen wearing a maroon Kanjeevaram silk saree, while Dhanush is dressed in traditional South Indian attire.
Rumors of a potential wedding between Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur first emerged a few days prior, with some reports suggesting a Valentine's Day wedding on February 14, 2026. However, these rumors were quickly dismissed by sources close to the actors. A source close to Dhanush, speaking to Deccan Herald, called the marriage reports "completely fake and baseless" and urged the public not to fall for the hoax. Mrunal Thakur's team has not officially commented on the matter.
Adding to the denial, Mrunal Thakur responded to the wedding rumors with a cryptic post on Instagram, stating, "Grounded, glowing, and unshaken!". This subtle yet firm message further indicated that there was no truth to the circulating rumors.
This isn't the first instance of AI-generated wedding images involving celebrities going viral. Previously, a similar image depicting Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda's supposed wedding also surfaced online, proving the increasing sophistication and potential deceptiveness of AI-generated content.
