Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari, is slated for release on June 12, 2026. The yet-untitled movie also features Naseeruddin Shah in a key role.

The film is produced by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films, and Mohit Choudhary and is described as a "charming story of love and longing". This positions it as one of the most anticipated Hindi releases of mid-2026. The movie, written and directed by Imtiaz Ali, is currently in post-production.

This film marks the second collaboration between Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh, following their widely-loved 2024 Netflix film "Amar Singh Chamkila". The new movie reportedly has a contemporary and witty narrative that explores the depth of human connection. Filming commenced in August 2025.

Imtiaz Ali described the film as having "a big heart" and a large canvas while remaining very personal. He added that it is a story of a boy and a girl, but also of a country.

The film also reunites A.R. Rahman, Irshad Kamil, and Imtiaz Ali, a trio known for creating unforgettable melodies in Indian cinema.
