Submer, a European leader in liquid cooling technology, and Anant Raj Cloud, a part of Anant Raj Limited, have announced a partnership to develop sustainable, AI-ready data centers across India. This collaboration aims to support India's growing digital economy and its ambition to become a global hub for AI and semiconductor technology. The official agreement between the two companies is expected to be formalized at the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026.
The partnership will leverage Submer's advanced liquid-cooling and modular infrastructure to create energy-efficient data centers capable of handling high-performance computing workloads. These data centers will enable businesses and government organizations to run large-scale AI programs with significantly reduced power consumption. By adopting Submer's "InferX" platform and modular infrastructure, the collaboration seeks to streamline the management of these demanding AI tasks.
Submer's liquid cooling solutions are designed to drastically reduce energy and water consumption, leading to a smaller environmental footprint and lower operational costs. This approach is particularly relevant in India, where the data center market isn't held back by older cooling systems, thus creating an opportunity to build advanced, high-density facilities.
Anant Raj Cloud is an established player in India's technology sector, with large campuses in Manesar and Panchkula. The company's focus is shifting from traditional data storage to creating high-tech facilities for powerful GPUs, aligning with the Union Budget 2026-27's objectives for AI and semiconductor development in India.
Patrick Smets, CEO of Submer, emphasized India's pivotal role in digital transformation, stating that the partnership combines Submer's technology with Anant Raj's infrastructure and cloud services to bring high-performance AI computing online quickly while minimizing environmental impact. Dev Tyagi, President of UKI, India, and Asia at Submer, noted that this plan supports higher computing capacity within the same physical space, paving a sustainable path for AI adoption at scale. Amit Sarin, Managing Director of Anant Raj Limited, expressed pride in contributing to India's AI infrastructure.
This collaboration is a significant example of the growing cooperation between Europe and India in the technology sector, bringing European AI technology to India to support the "Digital India" mission and bolster data sovereignty. The initiative aligns with the national "Digital India" mission and supports the Union Budget's focus on establishing India as an AI and semiconductor hub. Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted India's data center boom, noting the $70 billion invested so far, with expectations to reach $200 billion, creating opportunities for startups, service providers, and AI innovation.
