Akshay Kumar has announced a new release date for his upcoming horror-comedy, "Bhooth Bangla." The film, directed by Priyadarshan, will now be released in theaters on April 10, 2026.
The release date was initially set for May 15, 2026, but it has been moved forward. According to reports, the decision to change the release date was made considering Akshay Kumar's busy schedule and audience engagement. "Bhooth Bangla" was previously scheduled to release on March 15, 2026, but was postponed to avoid clashing with Ranveer Singh’s "Dhurandhar: The Revenge".
Akshay Kumar revealed the new release date in a quirky video featuring a black cat. The video was shared on social media and quickly went viral, generating excitement among fans.
"Bhooth Bangla" marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years. The actor-director duo has previously delivered several hit films, including "Hera Pheri," "Bhool Bhulaiyaa," "Garam Masala," and "Khatta Meetha". The collaboration has raised expectations that they will recreate their past cinematic successes.
The film also stars Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles. "Bhooth Bangla" will also reunite Akshay Kumar and Tabu on screen after 25 years. They previously appeared together in films such as "Hera Pheri" and "Tu Chor Main Sipahi".
"Bhooth Bangla" is produced by Akshay Kumar, Ekta Kapoor, and Shobha Kapoor. Pritam has composed the music for the film. Reportedly, some scenes were filmed in Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Hyderabad. The film is expected to revolve around a mysterious haunted house and the ensuing chaos.
