Aneet Padda Gears Up For Shakti Shalini Shoot Under Aditya Sarpotdar's Direction Starting In March: Reports.

Aneet Padda is set to begin shooting for Shakti Shalini in March, marking her first project after the success of Saiyaara. The film is part of Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) and represents a genre shift for the young actor, as she steps into the supernatural space.

Shakti Shalini is the latest installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. While previous films in the MHCU have leaned heavily on comedy, Shakti Shalini is expected to have a stronger emotional arc, balancing horror with heightened drama.

Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his work on Thamma, is expected to direct the film. Sarpotdar's association with Maddock Films began with Munjya. His ability to combine mythology, horror, and humor is seen as key to shaping this chapter of the MHCU.

Pre-production reportedly took longer than expected, pushing the shoot from January to March. According to a source quoted by Mid-day, the first schedule is expected to be extensive, hinting at an ambitious filming plan.

Rumors suggest that Vishal Jethwa, known for his role in Homebound (2025), may star opposite Padda. However, the makers have not officially confirmed this.

Industry observers believe that Shakti Shalini will establish Padda as a leading young talent in Indian cinema. The film is slated for release on December 24, 2026, positioning it as a key title for the festive season.

Dinesh Vijan had reportedly considered Kiara Advani for the lead role before finalizing Padda.

Apart from Shakti Shalini, Aneet Padda is also involved in a romantic drama with Yash Raj Films, directed by Maneesh Sharma, and has lent her voice to Adi Shankar's Devil May Cry 2.
