Amar Upadhyay confirmed the delay, explaining that "the color combination on the screen wasn't translating the way it should". He emphasized Kapoor's perfectionism, stating, "Ektaa knows exactly what she wants—she's a perfectionist. And this is Kyunki… it's not just another show. It's a legacy and she wants to do everything what's best for the show". Although the premiere has been postponed, the mahurat shoot is still set to take place on July 3, 2025, coinciding with the original launch's 25th anniversary, which Upadhyay sees as symbolic.

Irani revealed that a second season was initially planned for 2014, but she had to decline due to her responsibilities as a cabinet minister in the Indian Parliament. "If you look at the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi journey in totality, the most well-kept secret about it was I had a contract to do it again in 2014, and I walked away from it because I had to serve in the Indian Parliament as a cabinet minister," she explained. She also mentioned that she had to turn down a film role opposite Rishi Kapoor at the time.

Despite the delay, Upadhyay expressed his excitement about reprising his role as Mihir Virani and reuniting with Smriti Irani. "When I met her at Ekta Kapoor's house, it felt like no time had passed. We were just the same," he shared. He noted that their chemistry as Mihir and Tulsi remains strong and that the love between their characters has matured.
