Ranveer Singh's upcoming film, "Dhurandhar 2," is set to be a pan-Indian release, hitting theaters in five languages on Eid, March 19, 2026. This marks a significant expansion for the franchise, as the first installment, "Dhurandhar," was released only in Hindi. The sequel will be available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, "Dhurandhar" was a major commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role as Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an undercover agent. The cast also includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.
"Dhurandhar 2" picks up where the first film left off, continuing the story of Hamza's mission. After eliminating Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) in the first film, Hamza rises to power in Pakistan's criminal and political landscape. The sequel will delve deeper into Hamza's character, revealing how Jaskirat became Hamza and led "Mission Dhurandhar". Hamza's next target is Iqbal, also known as "Bade Sahab," the mastermind behind numerous terrorist attacks on India.
The decision to release "Dhurandhar 2" in multiple languages comes after the first film's immense success and the growing demand to dub it in other languages. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the pan-Indian release, generating excitement among fans. Social media has been abuzz with reactions, with many expressing enthusiasm for the multi-language release and the grand Eid release.
The film is currently in post-production. Releasing on Eid, a holiday traditionally reserved for large-scale entertainers, indicates the confidence the filmmakers have in the film's potential to dominate screens across different regions.
"Dhurandhar 2" is expected to clash with Yash's "Toxic," which is also slated for release on the same day.
