Malavika Mohanan has recently shared heartwarming insights into her childhood friendship with Vicky Kaushal, revealing that he was her "first friend ever". The two actors, now prominent figures in the Bollywood industry, share a bond that dates back to their early childhood in Mumbai, where they were neighbors.
In a recent interview on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, Malavika fondly reminisced about their shared history. She explained that because she was around one year old and Vicky was six or seven when they first met, he became her oldest and first friend. Growing up in the same neighborhood, their families also became close, leading to a lifelong connection.
Malavika shared anecdotes of their childhood, recalling how they would participate in birthday parties and showcase their talents. Even as a child, Vicky was a "captivating dancer," always eager to display his skills. She recounted, "In childhood, we would all play passing the parcel at birthday parties. And we would all do things we were good at. For him, it was always dance. He was a very captivating dancer".
Despite their successful careers in Bollywood, Malavika mentioned that their conversations are casual and rarely revolve around their professional lives. "We just meet, eat good food. My mom makes lovely Malayali food. So we catch up over food and conversation, not really a lot of reflective topics come up,” she said. They also continue to celebrate Diwali together with their families, cherishing the tradition.
Malavika has previously expressed how much she misses being neighbors with Vicky. In 2020, she commented on one of Vicky's Instagram posts, saying, "Yaar! Wish we were still neighbours. Good time to play a round (or multiple) of sequence!".
Vicky Kaushal, son of action director Sham Kaushal, has achieved significant success in Bollywood. He was recently seen in the 2024 rom-com Bad Newz and the 2025 historical film Chhaava.
