Dhanush Hails Biana Momin's Stellar Performance in Eko, Declares the Film a True Masterpiece.

In a recent commendation, acclaimed actor Dhanush has lauded the Malayalam film Eko, calling it a "masterpiece" and singling out Biana Momin's performance for special praise. Taking to his X account, Dhanush stated, "EKO the Malayalam film is a masterpiece. Actor Biana Momin deserves all the highest honours. World class performance".

Eko, directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahul Ramesh, has been receiving positive feedback since its theatrical and OTT release. The film is a mystery thriller set in the misty hills of Kaattukunnu, near the Kerala-Karnataka border. It tells the story of Mlaathi Chedathi, played by Biana Momin, an elderly woman from Malaysia living in isolation, and her caretaker Peeyos, as they uncover secrets about Mlaathi's fugitive husband, Kuriachan. Kuriachan, a dog breeder, is in hiding from the state and a terror group.

Dhanush's praise has brought renewed attention to the film and Momin's performance. Momin, a teacher from Meghalaya, made her acting debut in Eko, portraying Mlaathi Chedathi, also known as Soyi. Her character is central to unraveling the film's mystery. Anjaly Sathyanath, an actor and trainer for artists performing in other languages, expressed her pride in working with Momin, noting that Eko marks a significant new beginning in her own journey.

Eko is the final chapter of Dinjith Ayyathan's Animal Trilogy, following Kishkindha Kaandam and Kerala Crime Files: Season 2. The film stars Sandeep Pradeep, Vineeth, Narain, Ashokan, and Binu Pappu. Mujeeb Majeed composed the music, and Bahul Ramesh handled the cinematography and writing. Sooraj ES was the editor, and MRK Jhayaram bankrolled the project.

The film's non-linear narrative and layered storytelling have been noted as key elements of its engaging nature. Some viewers may find the plot confusing initially, but the film rewards patience with its gradual unveiling of secrets. Eko has earned over ₹50 crore worldwide during its theatrical run and is currently available for streaming on Netflix in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada.

Dhanush, known for his roles in films like Raanjhanaa and Asuran, has several upcoming projects, including Tere Ishk Mein, Kuberaa, and Kalam. Eko continues to garner appreciation from viewers and critics alike, solidifying its place as a notable Malayalam thriller.
