Border 2 Stars Sunny Deol and Ahan Shetty Thrill Mumbai Fans at Gaiety Galaxy, Expressing Deep Gratitude.

Mumbai, January 26, 2026 – Fans at Mumbai's iconic Gaiety Galaxy cinema were treated to a surprise visit from Sunny Deol and Ahan Shetty, stars of the newly released war drama Border 2. The actors' appearance sent waves of excitement through the audience, who had gathered to watch the film.

The unexpected visit occurred as Border 2 continues to draw large crowds nationwide, achieving significant box office success within just three days of its release. The film has already crossed ₹100 crore mark at the box office in India.

Upon their arrival at Gaiety Galaxy, Deol and Shetty were met with thunderous applause and cheers. Overwhelmed fans rushed to greet Sunny Deol as he entered the venue, chanting his name and expressing their admiration. The atmosphere was electric, creating a memorable experience for everyone present.

Inside the theater, the actors acknowledged the enthusiastic crowd, waving and expressing their gratitude for the strong turnout and positive reception of Border 2. Their heartfelt interaction with the audience further fueled the celebratory mood, as fans cheered and shared their love for the film.

Border 2, directed and co-written by Anurag Singh, is a sequel to the 1997 film Border, directed by J.P. Dutta. The new film expands upon the original, presenting a multi-front war narrative involving the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. It delves deeper into the camaraderie and sacrifices of soldiers, offering a gripping and emotional cinematic experience.

Sunny Deol reprises his role as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler, a commanding officer and mentor to younger soldiers played by Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The cast also includes Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana, each playing pivotal roles.

In addition to the Gaiety Galaxy visit, Sunny Deol recently made a rare public appearance with his step-sisters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol at a screening of Border 2 in Mumbai. This marked their first public outing together since the passing of their father, veteran actor Dharmendra, last year.

The Centre recently announced the Padma Awards 2026, posthumously awarding Dharmendra the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian honor, in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema. Dharmendra remained active until the end of his life, receiving praise for his performances in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. His final film, Ikkis, was released on January 1, 2026, shortly after his death.
