AAP Leader Accuses BJP of Government and Police Disgrace Following Janakpuri Youth's Tragic Death.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj has strongly condemned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Delhi government and the Delhi Police following the death of a 25-year-old youth, Kamal Dhyani, in Janakpuri. Bhardwaj has alleged police negligence, attempts to withhold information, and tampering with the accident site.

According to reports, Kamal Dhyani fell into a pit dug on a road in Janakpuri. The incident has drawn sharp criticism and allegations of negligence against the authorities. AAP leaders are drawing parallels to a similar incident in Noida last month, where a software engineer died after falling into a drain.

Bhardwaj, speaking to ANI, characterized the incident as a reflection of the "shamelessness of the government and police". He stated that the family of the deceased went to multiple police stations, as many as six, to file a report after their son went missing, but no one registered their complaint. Bhardwaj further alleged that the police deliberately deleted the phone location of the youth and questioned the reason for doing so, suggesting a cover-up. He claimed that the police could have located and potentially saved the young man if they had acted promptly.

Arvind Kejriwal, AAP National Convenor, echoed these sentiments, calling the incident a "murder". In a post on X, Kejriwal stated that the BJP has learned nothing from the Noida incident and that gross negligence and an utterly irresponsible approach have become the defining features of BJP governments.

Bhardwaj visited the accident site and alleged that the Delhi Police had tampered with the crime scene. He described the presence of barricades on three sides of the road and suggested that the police altered the scene.

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has expressed grief over the accident and stated that strict action would be taken against any official found negligent. An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the incident.

DCP Bhaskar stated that an FIR is being registered and that the police will investigate the family's claims of not receiving help from multiple police stations. He added that the victim's motorcycle would be recovered as part of the ongoing forensic investigation.

The incident has sparked a debate about urban safety standards and concerns about similar past accidents. The death of a 27-year-old IT professional in Noida in January, who died after his car fell into an unmarked pit, has also drawn attention to construction site hazards and inadequate safety measures.

Political leaders and citizens are calling for accountability, improved monitoring of public works, and immediate reforms to prevent such tragedies. The incident highlights the urgent need for stricter safety protocols and a timely response from authorities.
